A step up to 1400m should be ideal for Be Lucky (6). He made a stack of ground when third in good line-up on the Polytrack last time. Comes to the turf first time here and has drawn a lot better. Totality (1) has finished second at his past two starts and from the inside draw will make a bold bid while Starlite Shower (2) is worth another chance after disappointing last time as his previous form was solid. Flying Ahead (8) is a first starter that has trialled soundly and looks a threat.
RACE 3
There was a lot to like about the debut win of Miracle Bay (7). He’s been kept fresh since and despite the wide draw is sure to make a bold bid. Irish Lightning (4) chased gamely last time and after the claim here is sure to make a bold bid while stablemate Zafonic Star (3) tried hard last time and although back in distance is sure to give a bold sight. Moon’s Fairy (1) is a recent class dropper and back to the shorter trip here is sure to be a plus.
RACE 10
Despite the weight Merchant (2) gets his chance here. While he disappointed last time, his previous two runs were seconds on the Polytrack behind Rocket Man and Captain Obvious. Expect him to go close here. Finderskeepers (5) was just run down by Better Be The One last time and should make a bold bid here while Won’t Stop (7) has won three of his last five over varying distances and must be included in the hopes. Mr Timely (3) is coming off a break but invariably races well that way and must be respected.
